Overview: Xihua Park, also known as Sanyuan Cave, is located on Xihua Mountain, 3 kilometers west of Kaihua Town in Wenshan City. The park offers scenic views and a range of historical and natural attractions.

Attractions:

  • Historical Background: The park was initiated during the Tongzhi era of the Qing Dynasty by a monk named Pan and later developed with the participation of skilled craftsmen. By the Guangxu period, pavilions and terraces were constructed, adding stone steps, pavilions, and exotic flowers and trees. It was named “Sanyuan Cave” to symbolize the “Three Yuan” in the imperial examination system.
  • Scenery: The area is characterized by its steep terrain and majestic views. The cave is spacious and well-ventilated, surrounded by pavilions and terraces with intricate carvings and vibrant colors. From the cave’s entrance, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the fertile Wenshan basin. Xihua Mountain features limestone formations with 36 peaks, rugged cliffs, and picturesque scenery. The main peak has three large caves, giving it the name “Three-Eye Cave.”
