About Yonghe Border Port
Yonghe Border Port is a nationally second-grade opening port. This port was opened in 1996, a commercial port which connects Cangyuan and Myanmar. Yonghe Port is an inconspicuous one among hundreds of opening ports in China, but its geographical location is quite unique. The altitude increases around 1800m along the way from Cangyuan County center to Yonghe Port. Overlooked from Yonghe Border Port, Cangyuan County center is covered by spectacular clouds.
Functions of Yonghe Border Port
Yonghe Border Port is 14 km away from Cangyuan County center, facing Shaopa region of Mengmao County in Myanmar across the bridge. The 167th boundary monument shares the territory of China and Myanmar, belonging to the two countries. It becomes an unique tourist area cross the border. Va ethnic group in China and Myanmar inhabit harmoniously for generations who share their lives & culture.
3 KM to the Shaopa region in Myanmar, situated in the end of second-class highway from Gengma to Cangyuan, the traffic of Yonghe Port is very convenient. Yonghe Port is a vital link between Southwest China and Southeast Asia, it plays an important role in banning planting of opium poppy, such as, Myanmar used to import tea from China, but now the situation is totally changed, Myanmar starts to export tea to China. It is a great achievement with the support of China’s government and international society, Myanmar begins to plant tea in the north part rather than opium poppy. 50% of the oolong tea produced in Myanmar selling to Guangdong, Fujian and Taiwan must go through Yonghe port.
