From the third grade, students take Dongba language courses with dedicated teachers and Dongba language interest groups on Wednesday afternoons. Traditional culture courses from grades one to six focus on practical activities for cultural inheritance. Middle and high – grade students use self – compiled textbooks rich in local cultural resources, and teachers receive relevant training. In folk art education, the school teaches Dongba art, whose students’ works are highly recognized by art experts. Some works are selected for the national “2+1” art textbook and national primary and secondary school art education materials. The school also participates in compiling the Yunnan Folk Art Textbook. In Baisha Fine Music inheritance, a training class was opened in 1999, with successful performances in Shanghai in 2014 and 2015.
