Kaiyuan(开远市) is under the jurisdiction of Honghe Autonomous Prefecture. It is located in the southeast of Yunnan and the middle east of Honghe Prefecture. It borders Yanshan county and Qiubei county to the east, Mengzi and Gejiu to the south, Jianshui to the west and Mile to the north, and is the traffic fort and center city of southeast Yunnan. It covers an area of 1946.91 square kilometers with 334.100 population(In 2016).
