Dear Phonsalin Thongkham
Thank you for contacting us. This is Rachel from Yunnan Exploration Travel.
We could arrange the car for you from Shangrila to Yading, the distance between Shangrila and Yading is about 330km, usually it takes 7-8 hours driving, may I know your plan after visiting Yading, will you be back to Shangrila for departure flight?
For the stay: usually we don’t recommend living in Yading village, the altitude of Yading village is relatively high, with an average altitude of 3900 meters. According to past experience, people from low altitude areas who live in such high altitude places are more likely to suffer from altitude sickness, or headaches while sleeping, we recommend you stay in Shangrila Town (also called Riwa, not Shangri city in Yunnan).
Regarding the hiking routes in Yading, there are long route ((Luorong Pasture – Milk Lake – Five Color Lake) and short route (Chonggu Monastery – Chonggu Meadow – Pearl Lake), if you plan 2 days visiting, you can do both, how many days do you plan to hike there ? Also, do you have experience in hiking or high altitude hiking? I will send the detailed itinerary after your reply.
Sincerely
Rachel
Hello 🙂
You say the bus from Shangri-La to Daocheng is about 10 hours.
When I get to Daocheng after this bus ride, will there still be buses at that time from Daocheng to Riwa? Or will it be too late at night?
Thanks!
