Kunming Transportation- By Trains
After 1966, several railways from Kunming to other provinces were opened successively, including the Kunming-Guiyang railway(640 kilometers in length, opened in 1966), the Kunming-Chengdu railway(1100 kilometers in length, opened in 1970), the Kunming-Neijiang railway, and the Kunming-Nanning railway(900 kilometers in length), etc. In addition, the railway lines in the province, such as Guangtong- Dali railway and Kunming- Yuxi railway, have been built, and will be used as the end point of pan-asia railway south road in the future. In 2010, the construction of Shanghai-Kunming high-speed railway and Yunnan-Guangxi railway with the speed of 350km/h started successively, and Yunnan began to enter the era of high-speed railway. As an important node of the national railway network and the key point of Yunnan railway artery, Kunming is a railway hub station including 12 railway trunk and branch lines.
