Mangfei Tea Mountain
Mangfei Tea Mountain is recognized as one of the original birthplaces of tea in the world. The mountain is home to a diverse range of flora, including Chinese Magnolias and extensive areas of wild, transitional, and cultivated ancient tea trees. The Mangfei Tea (忙肺茶) produced here is derived from century-old large-leaf tea trees, which are integral to the region’s tea culture.
Characteristics of Mangfei Tea
Mangfei Tea is celebrated for its unique and mysterious qualities. It has been awarded the status of Provincial Excellent Varieties by the Tea Research Institute of the Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences (云南省茶科所) and classified as the Mengban Mangfei Large Leaf Group Species (勐板忙肺大叶群体种).
The tea is known for its:
- Clear and Bright Soup Color: The infusion has a visually appealing clarity.
- Rich and Full Taste: It offers a well-rounded, brisk flavor that is both thick and smooth.
- Delicate Fragrance: The aroma is subtle yet captivating, enhancing the overall drinking experience.
Despite its superior quality, Mangfei Tea has not yet gained widespread popularity, which makes it particularly valued by tea enthusiasts, especially those in Taiwan who have a deep appreciation for Pu’er tea.
Environmental Factors
The combination of a typical three-dimensional climate and traditional processing methods has created an unparalleled environment for cultivating Yunnan large-leaf tea, including Mangfei Tea. As a result, Mangfei Tea is recognized as a pure, natural, and pollution-free product, contributing positively to health and well-being.
Conclusion
Mangfei Tea Mountain embodies a rich heritage and unique characteristics that make it a significant player in the world of Yunnan teas. With its high-quality production and favorable environmental conditions, Mangfei Tea stands out as a gem within the vast array of tea varieties.
