Scenic Introduction

Xiashankou is the main outlet for the three rivers of the Eryuan Basin (洱源坝子)—the Miju River (弥苴河), Fengyu River (凤羽河), and Haiwei River (海尾河). It also serves as the key passageway and checkpoint between the Eryuan and Dengchuan (邓川) basins.

To the west lies Tianma Mountain (天马山), while to the east are the foothills of Lingying Mountain (灵应山). The gorge between these two mountains is called Putuokong (普陀崆), also known as Longma Stream (龙马涧).
