Food lovers drool over tofu feast in Chenggong

Tofu, also known as bean curd, is very popular among Chinese and well-known around the world. Under the administration of Kunming, capital city of southwest China’s Yunnan province, Chenggong District has long enjoyed a reputation for making tofu in old-fashioned ways.
On December 8, a tofu-themed festival kicked off in Chengong. Today, let’s take a tour to the festival to “taste” the Tofu dishes. But be careful: you may be drooling over the “delicacies”!
Tofu can be stewed, steamed, fried or cooked in a number of ways. On the festival, you can try numerous mouth-watering tofu dishes: soft silken tofu, tofu pudding, soy milk, Asian dry tofu, you name it!
In addition to enjoying delicacies, Tofu museums, painting and photography exhibition were worth visiting if you wanted to better understand the local food history. Exquisite handicrafts, special snacks also made the festival attractive to visitors.
Since it was first held last year, the tofu festival has attracted a rising number of visitors to Chenggong and stimulated the development of local culture and tourism industry.
