Kunming – Yuanjiang County Transportation: By Train, Bus & Car-rental

Yuanjiang Hani, Yi and Dai Autonomous County is a county of south central Yunnan province. It derives its name from the Red River (Asia), which is known as the Yuan River in Yunnan. The transportation of Yuanjiang is relatively developed compared to other counties in Yunnan. From Kunming, you can choose the coach getting to Yuanjiang county and in the near future, taking a train to Yuanjiang is also available. 

How to Get to Yuanjiang County from Kunming?

By Bus

Highways in Yuanjiang area go to all directions. At Kunming South Bus Station(南部客运站), there are several buses running to Yuanjiang county, departing at 09:00, 12:00, 15:20, 16:30, 18:00, 19:30. The ticket fare ranges from CNY 75-90 and the the journey take about 3 hours. Kunming South Bus Station lies at No.7, Shangbo Street of Guandu District(昆明官渡区商博街7号) and tourists can get there by taking Bus No. C71, 209 or subway line 1, and also taxi. 

By Train

The railway connecting Yuanjiang and Kunming is under construction. At present, tourists can take trains to Yuxi and then take bus to Yuanjiang. It’s the best choice for you to take high-speed rail to Yuxi Station which only takes 30 minutes. At Yuxi Chengnan Bus Station(玉溪城南汽车客运站), there are more than 20 buses heading to Yuanjiang county. The departure time is 06:30, 07:00, 07:40, 08:00, 08:40, 09:20, 09:40, 10:00, 10:20, 11:00, 11:40, 12:20, 12:50, 13:20, 13:40, 14:00, 14:40, 15:00, 15:20, 16:00, 16:20, 16:50, 18:20. Yuxi High-speed Railway Station is close to Chengnan Bus Station and tourists can take bus No.11 getting there.
