Kunming-Nujiang Transportation
Located in West of Yunnan, Nujiang Prefecture got its name from Nujiang River that flows through from north to south, which is one of the Three Parallel Rivers, a world heritage site listed by UNESCO. It’s more than 500km away from Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province. In general, traffic in Nujiang is not very convenient and there is only long-distance bus connecting the two cities.
How to Get to Nujiang from Kunming?
By Long-distance Bus
Tourists can take long-distance buses from Kunming directly to Liuku Town of Nujiang. Liuku is about 581 kilometers from Kunming and the journey takes about 9.5-15.5 hours. Scheduled buses are available from Kunming West Bus Station and the departure time is 09:30, 11:00, 14:30, 18:00, 19:00, 19:30, 20:00. Fugong is about 700km from Kunming and it takes about 19 hours on the way. Only 2 buses available from Kunming West Bus Station to Fugong, with the departure time 18:30 and 19:00.
Alternative, tourists can get to Baoshan or Dali first, and then change to buses to Liuku. The buses depart from Baoshan Bus Station at 08:00, 09:30, 10:30, 11:30, 13:00, 14:30, 15:30, 17:00 and depart from Dali Express Station at 07:40, 08:20, 09:20, 10:20, 11:20, 12:20, 13:20, 14:20, 15:00, 16:00, 19:00.
