Brief Introduction

Also known as Majie Bus Station, Kunming West Bus Station (昆明西部汽车客运站) is the closest station to the city center of Kunming among the five large bus terminals. Opened to public on November 15, 2009,it is granted as a first class bus station with the largest passenger volume in Kunming. The buses from Kunming to West Yunnan including destinations of Lijiang, Dali, Diqing, Nujiang, Dehong, Baoshan and Linchang depart from Kunming West Bus Station. In the peak seasons(especially China national holiday), almost 800 daily buses departing from the station with ridership of 30,000 to 40,000 maximum and in the low season, about 400 buses transporting at least 10,000 passengers. The bus station features Ticketing Hall, Ticketing Vending Machine, Waiting Room, Left Luggage Office, Luggage Inspection Machine, ATM. 

Ticketing

For International travelers, you can only purchase your tickets at the ticket window for the online tickets are only sold to Chinese travelers. You can also ask a travel agency like us to book the tickets for you as only you provide the copy of your passport related. If you buy the tickets by yourself, it’s better to write your booking details on a paper note to the sellers since they don’t speak English, which is more convenient and efficient.

Kunming West Bus Station – Kunming Railway Station

By Bus No.80
It departs from Kunming West Bus Station to Kunming Railway Station directly from 06:00 to 22:00, with the ticket of CNY 2.

By Subway
Traveling by subway, you will have to change from line 3 to line 1 at Dongfeng Square. It’s about 40 minutes with the fare of CNY 4, which is available from 06:30 to 20:30. 

Kunming West Bus Station – Kunming South High Speed Railway Station

By Bus
Bus No.K41, K42, 923 and 930 all depart from Kunming West Bus Station to Kunming South High Speed Railway Station directly. It takes about 2 hours with the fare of CNY 2. 

By Subway
Traveling by subway, you will have to change from line 3 to line 1 at Dongfeng Square to Kunming South Railway Station. It’s about 90 minutes with the fare of CNY 7.

Kunming West Bus Station – Kunming Changshui International Airport

Take city bus 919B(ticket fare: CNY 13) or non-stop airport bus line 5(ticket fare: CNY 25) to get to the airport. Bus No. 919B will run about 2 hours and the airport bus line 5 will be 1 hour. 

By Subway
Take subway line 3 to Dongfeng Square firstly and then change line 1 for Kunming airport. Riding time is about 70 minutes and ticket fare is CNY 6 Yuan.

Kunming West Bus Station – Kunming East Bus Station

Subway line 3 runs from the west bus station to the east bus station directly. It takes about 40 minutes at the cost of CNY 6. It’s available from 06:30 to 22:30.
