What to Wear for a December Lijiang Trip
When you travel to Lijiang, the climate in Lijiang are not freezing cold, lined clothes, wind coats, heavy jackets, sweaters and hoodies are enough to keep you warm in the daytime. However, the temperature is much lower at night, and light down-filled coats, cotton-padded clothes, leather jackets, and woolen coats are needed. Felt hats, gloves, and scarves are nice choices when going outdoors. A pair of comfortable and warm shoes will be necessary. As the weather is dry, travelers should carry a bottle of water at all times when travelling around.
Places to Visit in December Lijiang
- Lashihai Lake:
Lashi Lake is a famous attraction in Lijiang. In December, thousands of water fowls migrate afar from the north, among which there are some of national protected birds, such as Black Storks, Black Neck Cranes, Chinese Mergansers, etc. as well as great numbers of ordinary water birds like Ruddy Shelducks and Mandarin Ducks and so on. - Jade Dragon Snow Mountain:
It provides a vast site for skiing fans, coupled with graceful views and fresh air. - Lijiang Ancient Town:
Travelers can also spend a leisure life in the Old Town of Lijiang. In day, they can wander in the Zhongyi Market and find tasty local snacks and handicrafts. There are cafes in the streets and it is enjoyable to drink a cup of hot coffee in the sunshine of winter. At night, many bars welcome visitors with dazzling decorations and loud music. Some bars are special, where the singers and customers gather around a bonfire. - Yufeng Temple:
Yufeng Temple (Chinese Name: 玉峰寺), located at the southern foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain with ancient forests clustering around, is 9 km away from the Lijiang. Yufeng Temple is called ‘Kalashicongfeilin’ in Tibetan language. There is a small pond in front of the temple embraced by big pine trees. - Mu’s Residence:
It reflects the architectural style of the central plains of China during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Its layout is arranged according to the pattern of the Forbidden City. Decorative work, including carvings and paintings of buildings, are similar in style to those in the palace of Ming. Most of the decorations are simple but sublime showing the dignity of the ruler. Some of the buildings show the delicate characteristics of landscape gardens in south China.
