Why is Sacred Waterfall So Special?
It’s named as the Sacred Waterfall because there is a pouring waterfall from a dangling huge stone. Exactly speaking, it is the result of snow-pouring. Most of the days in the whole year, it’s the accumulated snow pouring down from the top. In summer, it’s water flowing down from the top of the mountain due to the rise of temperature, the scene is splendid. Some Tibet people come here from remote villages to purify their soles. Tourists can follow the Tibetan tradition of walking clockwise around the falls three times for blessing.

Sacred Waterfall in Lower Yubeng Village is located in the south of Kawaboge Mountain in Yunling Town, Deqin County, Diqing Prefecture, 9 kilometers from Yubeng Lower Village.
Legend about Sacred Waterfall
It is said that Yubeng rain falls is the holy water that God Kawakarpo gets from heaven, which can tell the fate of people and eliminate disasters and avoid difficulties. Tibetan Buddhist worshippers must bathe in the rain falling off the sacred falls as they worshpping the Meili Snow Mountain.
How to Get to Sacred Waterfall
There are two ways from Yubeng Village to Sacred Waterfall. Tourists have to walk there or get there by riding a mule. One is to go up along Yubeng River in Ninong Village near Lancang River. The other is to climb over a mountain in Yongzong Village.
The way in Yongzong Village is a little bit closer. You need take a car to get Xidang Spring, then trek along Jiujilagu(18 bends) to go through the primeval forest where there are plentiful trees and ice bars hanging the branches of the trees. Out of the woods, you will get to Upper Yubeng Village. The environment is quiet and isolated, move on and you’ll arrive at Lower Yubeng Village. Then head to a meadow, go by there and continue to trek up, Sacred Waterfall is within your sight.
