What to Wear for a June Kunming Trip
Bring long sleeve clothing, T-shirts, a light waterproof jacket and rain gear. Have shoes that are easy to dry, and if you go hiking, make sure your shoes are comfortable.
Places to visit in June Kunming
- Jiuxiang Cave: When it feels too cool and a little hot, you can keep cool and see a place lit up as with Christmas lights. Jiuxiang Cave is one of the largest cave systems in China. It is one of the natural highlights of the area, and it is only two hours from the center of Kunming. You’ll see waterfalls, underground rivers and streams, and many beautiful rock formations if you travel to Jiuxiang Cave.
- Green Lake: It is the most popular city park for tourists. Many foreigners like it very much.Locals especially like the seagulls. June is the season when the lotus just opens. You will enjoy the beauty of all kinds of lotus.

Enjoying ethnic festivals and culture and the dance and sing of ethnic minorities.(the 5th day of the 5th month in the Chinese lunar calendar) usually takes place during June. There are dragon boat competitions and other celebrations that vary based on different ethnic groups. You may get a chance to enjoy the spectacular festival sights if you visit Kunming during this month.)
