The most mysterious glacial lake within Haba Snow Mountain, Black Sea is known for its deep and enigmatic waters. It is said that if one calls out near the lake, it will start to rain lightly, and sometimes even a heavy downpour, which is why it is also called “Rain Calling Pond.”
Bay Sea (湾海)
The most beautiful glacial lake in Haba Snow Mountain, surrounded by snow-capped peaks. The crystal-clear water reflects the blue sky, white clouds, and snow mountains, and the lakeside is adorned with vast rhododendron fields.
Haba Base Camp (哈巴大本营)
Located at an altitude of over 4,100 meters, Haba Base Camp is an important starting point and support base for the hiking route to the summit of Haba Snow Mountain. It is equipped with basic facilities and medical support.
Haba Rhododendron Sea (哈巴杜鹃花海)
The largest rhododendron field in Shangri-La, with over 200 species of rhododendrons, covering about 70% of the rhododendron varieties in Yunnan.

On the first day, arrive at Haba Village and visit the ancient village and Haba River. On the second day, head to Haba Base Camp to admire the snow meadows and the primeval forests. If you are fit, you can continue to Black Sea or Bay Sea. In the afternoon, return to Haba Village and head back to the city in the evening.

Transportation Guide
Public Transport
Take a bus from Shangri-La City to Tiger Leaping Gorge (虎跳峡), then transfer to a rural bus heading to Haba Village.
Self-Driving
Drive from Shangri-La City along National Highway 214 to Tiger Leaping Gorge, then follow the rural road to Haba Village. The total distance is about 120 km, with a travel time of approximately 3 hours.
